Fulbourn Institute A 3, Eaton Socon A 1

26th January 2019 :: Cambs FA County League MPG 3A

Eaton Socon traveled to Fulbourn with a strong squad but  started slowly as they were getting used to the windy conditions. Once Eaton worked out how to play in the wind they managed to move the ball about with precision. After 30 minutes of being camped in their own half and the young Eaton keeper made numerous saves to keep the scores level. Then Eaton managed to work the ball into Manto who played a ball into young Vales path who finished into the bottom corner. Eaton continued to dominate the game with good movement and finished the half in the lead.

Second half began but Eaton didn’t pick up where they left off and a sloppy passage of play lead to a ball being played into the Eaton area and the Fulbourn striker got in front of the Eaton defence and finished first time past the Eaton keeper. Ten minutes later the ball was in the back of the net again from a set piece and Eaton found themselves 2-1. With the clock ticking down Eaton began to tire and several fouls being committed and a dubious penalty was given against Harper in the dying minutes and the Fulbourn striker sent Harness the wrong way and Eaton were now 3-1 down
