Ely City reserves 1, Eaton Socon 7

26th October 2019 :: Cambs FA County League Kershaw Premier

Ely City Reserves 1-7 Eaton Socon

Eaton started brightly, not quite as bright as the gaffers new 10 grand teeth but none the less were on top from the off.

They stormed into a 3 goal lead in the first half an hour with goals from CJ and a Thorpe double with Flossy at right back involved heavily throughout. Ely hit back shortly after to give them some false teeth hope before Jake Alderson picked the ball up 35 yards out and decided to hit an unstoppable effort into the top bins for an early goal of the season contender! That crowned a really good 45 and Eaton were 4-1 up at half time.

The second half began the same as the first with Eaton getting their teeth into their opponents from the restart. The overcast weather would usually call for the flood lights to be turned on but some of Eaton’s football was giving the gaffer a reason to smile so that brightened the whole of Cambridgeshire up. The introduction of Ben Colgate 👀 gave the Ely defence something different to deal with for the last half an hour and further goals came from CJ, Griffiths and an OG gave Eaton a comfortable end to the game.

A really good day at the dentist for Eaton who moved up to third ahead of a tough few weeks.
