Eaton Socon A 3, Hundon Res 1

12th October 2019 :: Cambs FA County League MPG 3A

After a 2-1 away win against Clare the week before, The A team came out guns blazing. Eaton dominated early with some neat passing which set Jake Dexter through on the left and in the 10th minute cut inside with a nice cross come shot which resulted with the ball in the top right hand corner of the net. Eaton kept the pressure on forcing the hundon keeper to make some good saves and found themselves 2-0 up on the 18th minute after a well taken penalty from Damien chamberlain, which was given when an Eaton player was fouled in the box from a corner. Eaton had multiple chance to make it an even greater lead but failed to take there chances in front of goal. With Eaton sensing a huge victory the team became complacent and with a mistake at the back the no: 10 was through and dispatch his goal nicely. This unsettled Eaton and hundon we’re coming back into the game.

With it 2-1 at half time Eaton came back out with the same vigour they started with and continued to dominate the game, but with the clock ticking hundon started through men forward and were trying to hit Eaton on the break. With the introduction of Sam Ward and Tom Nash this gave Eaton some fresh legs. Nerves were settled on the 75 minute when man of the match Dexter cut in from the left on his right foot with yet another cross come shot finding Sam Ward with a nice glancing header into the goal, finishing the game 3-1.

Next week the ‘A’team are away to Guyhirn in the cup.
