Eagles away win sees Eaton remain unbeaten!
Eaton Socon continued their unbeaten start to the Kershaw Premier campaign with an outstanding 3-2 away win at highly fancied West Wratting. The visitors were pinned back in the early exchanges and conceded a well taken goal from the edge of the box following a sustained period of Wratting pressure. Eaton created a couple of chances themselves with Alderson looking dangerous on the right and at the other end some smart saves from Gallucci kept the score down to 1-0 at the interval.
Half time 1-0
Eaton came out for the second half looking a different side. The passing and tempo that was missing for large parts of the first half soon paid dividends when Ansell Carter finished from close range. Ansell Carter doubled the Eaton tally when a cross from Newland was met by the striker to put the visitors ahead. Eaton defended well with Roberts and Woodend combining well at the heart of the defence with Davis and Baxter marshalling well in front of the back 4. The game was put beyond doubt when Shepherd picked up a loose ball, drove forward and fired home from 18 yards. Gallucci made 2 further excellent saves to maintain the two goal lead. As the final seconds approached Wratting pulled a goal back but it was to prove too late as the Eagles left Bull Lane with all three points and maintain their unbeaten start.
Final Score:
West Wratting 2-3 Eaton Socon
