Hampton Sports 4, Eaton Socon A 0

28th September 2019 :: Hunts Lower Junior Cup

On a day where Hamptons first team weren’t playing it was always going to be a question of how many would be playing against us. After a few minutes, we realised it was going to be a tough game. Their number 6 was running us ragged and it wasn’t long before he was brought down in the box and a penalty was given. Which was dispatched with vigour. Eaton responded automatically with a nice bit of play down the left which ended with a ball in the box which couldn’t be converted. It stayed 1-0 until half time.

After a well needed half time break Eaton came out with more urgency, and we’re on top of the game unfortunately hampton had a break with a speculative shot which hit the bar and then the back of the keeper which left him scrambling to stop the ball crossing the line pushing the ball into their striker with an easy tap in. Eaton then had a good chance with some nice play down the right which led to Dexter being one on one with the keeper, which pulled out a strong save. Unfortunately after that injury’s and fitness took its toll and the oppositions scored two more goals in the last 10 minutes.
