Eaton Socon 4, Linton Granta 1
14th December 2019 :: Cambs FA County League Kershaw Premier
Eaton got back to winning ways with a well deserved victory over a good Linton side at River Road.
In blustery conditions it was Eaton who took the lead when Ben Cole reacted to a loose ball in the box to fire home the opener. The lead was short lived however and Linton equalised from a corner, bundling the ball over the line after a good delivery into the box. This didn’t faze Eaton and they deservedly regained the lead just before half time when a good counter attack ended up with Jake Alderson through on goal who drilled the ball into the far corner to give the home side a half time lead.
In the second half Eaton were on top from start to finish with the outstanding Shepherd and McGowan dictating the game from the middle of the park. The lead was extended when Alderson crossed for Cole who brilliantly flicked the ball home from close range, 3-1. Further chances for Cole and Thorpe came and went before Ben Hickling rifled home a volley from the edge of the area to make the score line even more comfortable.
A really good performance from everyone involved which also saw an impressive debut from the bench for Brad Brown to top the day off.
MOM went to Ben Cole for his brilliant display up front for the eagles.
