Eaton Socon 4, Ely City reserves 0
25th January 2020 :: Cambs FA County League Kershaw Premier
Eaton produced a good performance and deserved the 3 points against a young Ely side with Milky Wale finally getting his clean sheet. Nothing clean about Jacob Taylor’s sheets after swiping right on Tinder though!
The first half saw the boomerang that is Jake Alderson open the scoring with a cross come shot that flew over the visiting goalkeeper into the net to make it 1-0. It was just a matter of time before Eaton got the second and what a second it was. Eaton were awarded a free kick 25 yards out and top scorer Rhys Thorpe stepped up to fire home brilliantly into the top corner. Ben Hickling should’ve made it 3-0 but the old Eaton ‘bobble’ meant his effort came down with snow on. 2-0 at half time.
More of the same from Eaton in the second half and they completely dominated proceedings playing some lovely football going forward with the whole team working tirelessly for the elusive clean sheet. Plenty of chances came and went including an Aaron Wooton header that was saved on the line before Thorpe and Alderson added further goals for the home side.
A very good team performance all round but MOM was awarded to Jacob ‘Tinder’ Taylor. We pray his parents got a good night sleep last night.
