Eaton Socon res. 5, Fordham 1

1st February 2020 :: Kershaw Senior B

Eaton started well, and controlled the game from start to finish, against a hard working Fordham side.
Youngsters Brown and Roberts dominated the game from midfield. Kidd and Pyke controlled the back four.
Tom Hall, complete with top knot opened the scoring after a fortunate ricochet drifted past the keeper.
Kidd added a second 20 minutes in, after a pinpoint free kick from Kokotka was met with a glancing header.
Kokotka came close to increasing the lead when his free kick struck the post. At the other end, White made a superb save save to deny Fordham just before half time.
In the second half Fordham were briefly in the game as Kokotka, wrong side of his man decided this wasn’t the week for a clean sheet, and conceded the most blatant penalty. 2-1

Eaton came back, and against the wind completely dominated the rest of the game. Top knot Tommy chipped the keeper for the 3rd. Whittingham on his return from suspension smashed the ball off the underside of the crossbar for the 4th, and after a jinking run substitute Irvine beat the advancing Fordham keeper to make it 5.

A great day for the Eagles with all 3 teams winning.
